  • If you are already managing the extension on your side, please refer to the official documentation for instruction on disabling updates.
  • If you are not managing the extension installation, please contact Support to disable automatic policy installation. Additionally, refer to Cyberhaven's documentation and the official documentation for guidance on switching to managed hosting and disabling updates.

When will the new extension be available?​

  • The extension will be available on March 10th. Chrome will update the extension based on its own configuration—by default, it checks for updates every 5 hours or after a restart, unless throttled.

Does this update affect the endpoint?​

  • No, this update has no impact on the endpoint agent, as it applies only to the extension.

Where can I check if I have the new extension?​

  • You can verify the installed version by navigating to chrome://extensions. Alternatively, any Chrome extension management tool will display the same information. We are also working on adding this visibility to Cyberhaven's dashboard, and it will be available starting with version 25.04.

My sensor is showing green, but I don’t see the new extension. Why?​

  • We no longer display out-of-date extension errors in the dashboard. If the sensor is green, it indicates that the agent is functioning properly, but the extension update may still be pending based on Chrome’s update schedule.

What is the impact if we choose not to use the new extension?​

  • If you opt not to use the new extension, you will not have visibility into the ChatGPT logged-in account.
  • No, this is a minor update to accommodate changes on ChatGPT’s side , specifically adjusting our logged-in account detection functionality.
