Identify and classify

This dashboard provides a comprehensive view of the current state of data classification in your environment, offering insights into unclassified data and newly discovered data sources and destinations.

Unclassified events

This panel displays a donut chart representing the classification status of data discovered in the events captured by Cyberhaven. Data is categorized as follows:

  • Classified: Data associated with a dataset and included within your policies.
  • Unclassified: Data that is not part of a dataset and therefore not classified.
  • Inspected: Data that has undergone content inspection.
  • Uninspected: Data that has not been inspected.

The chart provides a high-level overview of how much of your data is unclassified and potentially unprotected.

Additionally, a rating meter displays your overall data classification score, helping you assess the effectiveness of your data classification efforts. The meter categorizes the percentage of unclassified data into the following four ranges:

  • less than 15% is considered "Good,”
  • 15–30% is "Low,"
  • 31–60% is "Moderate," and
  • above 60% is "High."

The example screenshot above shows that 73% of the data remains unclassified, so the rating meter indicates a “High” level.

For more details, hover over each segment of the chart to view the specific data associated with each classification status.

New Locations

This panel shows a horizontal bar chart displaying all data sources and destinations identified for the first time within the selected period. It highlights potentially risky locations where your data is being sent, helping you uncover new areas of concern.

The panel offers layered interactions and drill-through capabilities for deeper analysis. Clicking on a bar opens a modal with additional details about the location. The modal also includes a navigation link, allowing you to access a filtered view of events on the Risks Overview page, providing further context to support your investigation.
